You’ve got questions, we have answers. These are some of the most common queries we’ve received from customers just like you who want a new deck or patio for their home.
Reach out to book a free consultation to cover any other questions you may have about the specific project you have in mind.
Most projects will require a permit to start work as deck and patio jobs typically involve some level of demolition, construction, and/or renovation. Height requirements and other factors such as structural and/or electrical work needed will also require a building permit. We will ensure that all permits and inspections are obtained and scheduled as required by law before any work is started.
As Ottawa’s premiere fence and deck builder, we offer only the best high-end materials you can choose for your home improvement project. For deck projects, we offer premium cedar, pressure-treated wood, and PVC deck materials. They may cost a little more but you can rest assured knowing that you have selected luxury materials that will enhance the exterior of your home and last for years to come.
Pressure-treated wood is a type of lumber that has been fortified with special preservatives using high pressure to protect against fungi, moisture damage, insect infestation, and other forms of rot and decay. We offer this type of wood as a deck building material because of its long-lasting durability in all types of outdoor environments.
We offer a whole list of options. We can customize your deck or patio with any special features you have in mind for additional comfort and functionality. Many of our customers have added custom deck railings, fire pits, built-in seating, outdoor kitchens, special lighting, railings, pergolas, and more. You name it, we can do it!
Aside from routine cleaning, additional maintenance depends on the type of deck or patio you have installed. Wood decks should be sealed every two to three years and patios may need to be sanded and/or sealed every couple of years based on the materials that were used in the construction process. This can help to reduce the risk of damage and premature wear and tear.
If maintained properly, you can expect your deck or patio to last roughly twenty to thirty years (or more!) depending on the type of materials used in the construction and installation process. We strive to provide the best service in the industry and stand by every job we’ve performed. Regular maintenance of your deck or patio can ensure it will look and feel its best for as long as you own it.
